Chemical Combi air scrubber

The chemical combi air scrubber is an extended version of the chemical low resistance plate scrubber. The chemical combi scrubber is equipped with an extra biological cleaning package. By using a second filter wall, not only the emission of ammonia, but also odor and particulate matter are greatly reduced. In this system, the air in the stable first passes through the low resistance plate filter with acidified process water, then through a plastic net filter with biological process water. The biological effect means that odor and dust particles are extracted from the stable air. Waste water in the biological phase can be used to replenish the process water in the chemical phase.

The chemical combi air scrubber has an ammonia reduction of 85%, an odor reduction of 30% and a particulate matter reduction of 80%. According to European certification, the dust reduction is even more than 95%. The chemical combi scrubber is certified in the Netherlands under number BWL 2006.14.

The chemical combi scrubbers are of course completely supplied by Farm Air with automatic purge functionality and a built-in data logger.

2 kinds of chemical low resistance plate filters

Farm Air has two chemical low resistance plate air scrubbers in its range: a version with 70% ammonia reduction and a version with 95% ammonia reduction.

Both air scrubbers use the same technique. The central element are the specially developed low resistance plates. The low resistance plate package is sprayed with acidified process water. The process water binds the ammonia, but also the odor and dust particles. Because the low resistance plate package is not sprayed continuously, but for about 1 minute every 20 minutes, these scrubbers have very low energy costs. With the chemical air scrubber, an efficiency of 70% or 90% can be achieved, for both systems the odor reduction is 30% and the particulate matter reduction is 35%. The operation of the air scrubber is fully automated.

The low resistance plate filters with 70% ammonia reduction is certified under number BWL 2004.02.

The low resistance plate filters with 95% ammonia reduction is certified under number BWL 2008.09.

Air scrubbing per department

Due to the high demand for a compact air scrubbing system for existing stables, Farm Air has developed the NET-tube system.

Many livestock farmers have to provide existing stables with air scrubbers in the short term. A traditional air scrubber requires a central exhaust duct. This can mean a costly and extensive renovation. Sometimes there simply is not room for a central exhaust duct or a traditional air scrubber.
Farm Air’s NET-tube air scrubbing system has been specially developed for these situations. By using a compact air scrubber per department, there is no need for a central exhaust duct.
The NET-tube can be used both inside and outside the stable. Fans can be installed on top of the NET-tube as well as in front of it.
The NET-tubes are centrally controlled with a high-quality control, equipped with all modern techniques and of course with a built-in data logger.

Various types of chemical NET-scrubbers

Farm Air has various types of chemical NET-scrubbers in its range. There are version with 70%, 90% or 95% ammonia reduction available. All these systems offer an odor reduction of 30% and a particulate matter reduction of 35%.
Compact air scrubbers are available with a somewhat thicker filter package. But there are also alternatives available in which the filter package is extra thin, which also causes less resistance in the airflow.
The central element in the chemical NET-scrubbers is a column of filter material with a large contact area and low resistance. Acidified process water is sprayed over the filter package. The process water binds to ammonia, odor and dust particles. Drop eliminators ensure that the acidified process water does not escape the air scrubber. The operation of the air scrubber is fully automated and can optionally be equipped with a self-cleaning function of the drop eliminators. This makes it a very reliable and maintenance-friendly air scrubber.

Wat is een chemische luchtwasser en hoe werkt het?

Een chemische luchtwasser is een apparaat dat wordt gebruikt om de emissie van stoffen zoals ammoniak, geur en fijnstof te verminderen in de agrarische sector. Het apparaat maakt gebruik van een chemisch proces waarbij zwavelzuur wordt toegevoegd aan het waswater. Het zwavelzuur reageert met de ammoniak in de lucht en bindt deze in het waswater tot ammoniumnitraat. Het spuiwater dat uit de luchtwasser komt bevat een waardevolle meststof die kan worden hergebruikt op het land.

Voordelen van chemische luchtwassers

Chemische luchtwassers bieden een aantal voordelen ten opzichte van andere typen luchtwassers. 

• Allereerst zijn ze uiterst effectief in het afvangen van ammoniak.
• Daarnaast zijn ze relatief compact, wat betekent dat ze minder ruimte in beslag nemen dan bijvoorbeeld biologische luchtwassers. Hierdoor zijn de aanschafkosten vaak lager dan die van biologische luchtwasser. 
• Ten slotte zijn chemische luchtwassers betrouwbaar en eenvoudig in gebruik. Ze zijn volledig geautomatiseerd en kunnen optioneel worden uitgerust met een zelfreinigingsfunctie, waardoor ze zeer bedrijfszeker en onderhoudsvriendelijk zijn.

Chemische lamellen luchtwasser

Farm Air biedt twee soorten chemische lamellen luchtwassers aan. Beide systemen maken gebruik van dezelfde techniek: speciaal ontwikkelde lamellen die besproeid worden met aangezuurd waswater. Het waswater bindt niet alleen ammoniak, maar ook geur- en stofdeeltjes. Doordat het lamellenpakket niet continu, maar iedere 20 minuten circa 1 minuut wordt besproeid, hebben deze luchtwassers zeer lage energiekosten. Met de chemische lamellen luchtwasser kan een rendement van 70% of 95% worden behaald. Voor beide systemen geldt dat de geurreductie 30% en de fijnstofreductie 35% is.

Chemische combi luchtwasser

Farm Air biedt de chemische combi luchtwasser aan, een uitgebreide versie van de lamellenwasser die een extra biologisch reinigingspakket heeft voor een reductie van ammoniak, geur en fijnstof in de stallucht. Het systeem bestaat uit een lamellenfilter met aangezuurd waswater en een kunststof netfilter met biologisch waswater. Het systeem heeft een ammoniakreductie van 85%, een geurreductie van 30% en een fijnstofreductie van 80%, en is gecertificeerd onder nummer BWL 2006.14. 

Chemische NET-wasser

Farm Air biedt diverse chemische NET-wassers. Het filterpakket van de wassers kan variëren in dikte en weerstand. Een kolom filtermateriaal met een groot contactoppervlak en lage weerstand fungeert als het centrale element van de wassers. Waswater wordt over het filterpakket gesproeid om ammoniak, geur- en stofdeeltjes te binden. Chemische luchtwassers zijn uiterst effectief en betrouwbaar in het afvangen van ammoniak, en er zijn veel varianten beschikbaar voor verschillende stallen.
